FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We realize visiting a new church can be somewhat stressful.  We want you to feel welcome and relaxed as you come to worship with us.  You are our guest and we hope you will experience the friendliness of our church.  Below are some frequently asked questions that might answer some of your questions.  If you have any specific questions, please feel free to email us by CLICKING HERE.

  • We have specific "Guest Parking" in our main parking lot off of 9th Street.  Just look for guest parking signs to direct you where to park.  We also have a parking lot off of 10th street behind Puckett's Jewelry.

  • After parking in the Guest Parking spots, come on in the Sanctuary.  The best way is to come to Main Street and enter the main sanctuary doors.  If you need the nursery before worship, go to the Activities Building (large building behind the Sanctuary).  Our Welcome Team will be in the parking lot directing you where you need to go.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask them.

  • When you enter the doors of our church, you will find people dressed in everything from casual clothes to dresses and suits. Come as you are...we are more interested in who you are rather than what you wear!

  • There are programs and activities available for kids of all ages.

Nursery is available for every service and program time.  Nursery is for ages birth - 4 years old.

Children's church is for 4 years - 1st grade and is during our  worship service time.

Sunday School is for ages 2 years old - high school.

Wednesday night classes are available for ages 2 years old - high school.

  • Safety is one of our top priorities in the children's ministry at Benton FBC.   Each volunteer in children and youth ministry must complete a background check and we have a policy of two adults in each classroom at all times.  Our doors are locked to keep any unauthorized person from entering while the children are in class. We have a security team at each service to keep an eye on our ministry areas.

  • Our worship service consists of corporate singing led by our worship leaders.  These songs can vary from traditional hymns to songs that are newer and have a contemporary style.  The ultimate goal during our corporate worship time is to prepare our hearts for the message the Lord would have for us that day.

  • Each Sunday, the sermon is an exegetical break down of the text.  Bro. Jeremy does a great job of explaining not only what the text has to say, but also how does that apply to our lives on a daily basis.  We typically walk through a book of the Bible and cover it verse by verse.  Currently, we are walking through the book of Acts.

  • A Christian is a disciple, or follower, of Jesus Christ. To be a Christian means to trust and follow Jesus and obey His commands. To become a Christian, or be saved, the Bible says that you must repent and believe. While salvation begins with a decision to trust in Christ, a Christian continues with a lifetime devoted to obeying Jesus.

We encourage you to speak with one of our pastors and discuss what it means for you to follow Jesus. Please call our church office at (270) 527-7575 to be connected with a member of our pastoral staff or CONTACT US.

  • Our church welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds. Becoming a member of FBC Benton, however, is an important commitment and one that we want each individual to take seriously.   We require every church member to have a personal relationship with Christ.  We have an invitation time at the end of each service for anyone who needs to make a decision for the Lord.   You can join the church in three different ways:

    1. By accepting Christ and being baptized. We baptize by immersion.
    2. By transfer of letter from another Baptist church. We will ask your previous church to send us a letter indicating that you are a member in good standing.  Your membership with that church will then transfer to FBC Benton.
    3. By statement of your faith. Upon statement of your Christian experience in a church that is no longer in existence or not Baptist, we will welcome you and baptize you by immersion if you have not previously been immersed.
